Florence Meier Chase
Florence Meier Chase (1902, Springfield – 6 de mayu de 1978, Manahawkin (es) 
) foi una botánica d'Estaos Xuníos[2] quién investigó la interacción ente radiación solar y algues nel Institutu Smithsonianu. Foi miembru de l'Asociación d'Estaos Xuníos pa la Meyora de la Ciencia; y, miembru honorariu de la Sociedá Botánica de Washington. Casóse col Dr. William Wiley Chase.[2]

Biografía editar
Llogró la so B.A. pola Wellesley College; y, el so Ph.D. pola Universidá de Xinebra en Suiza.[3] Foi asistente d'investigaciones nel Departamentu de Botánica en Universidá de Columbia, antes de camudase a Washington, D.C.[2]
En Washington, trabayó pal Institutu Smithsonianu nel Observatoriu Astrofísicu Smithsonianu, onde estudió fotosíntesis.[3]

Mientres amosaba a visitantes nel Edificiu Institucional Smithsonian el 14 de febreru de 1937, la Dra. Meier dio un pasu tras, y escaeció que la puerta de trampa taba abierta detrás d'ella, y cayó al traviés d'él hasta'l pisu de baxo, y rompióse el llombu. Foi llevada al Garfield Memorial Hospital. Nel hospital, ocupar d'ella, el Dr. William Wiley Chase, xefe del Departamentu de Ciruxía. Y, ellos finalmente casáronse.[3]
