Na primer temporada, usábase un cantar instrumental na introducción del show, pero depués foi sustituyida. La tema musical de ''CSI'' ye "[[Who LlabreAre You (cantar)|Who LlabreAre You]]", escrita por [[Pete Townshend]], integrante de [[The Who]],<ref>[http://web.archive.org/web/http://www.usaweekend.com/02_issues/020120/020120petersen.html A real reality show]</ref> del discu de [[1978]] que lleva'l so [[Who LlabreAre You|mesmu nome]]. Los spin-offs de la serie, tamién usen cantares de The Who nos sos intros: "[[Won't Get Fooled Again]]" pa CSI: Miami y "[[Baba O'Riley]]" pa CSI: New York, dambes grabaes por The Who en [[1971]] pal so álbum ''[[Who's Next]]''. Esto foi asonsañáu nun episodiu de la serie [[Two And A Half Men]], onde asonsañaron a ''CSI'' usando'l cantar [[Squeeze Box]]. El vocalista de The Who, [[Roger Daltrey]] fixo una apaición especial na temporada siete de la serie, nel episodiu llamáu "Living Legend", onde se fixeron numberoses referencies musicales al grupu, como les palabres "Who's Next" nuna cayuela, na secuencia d'apertura del episodiu.
 
A lo llargo de la serie, la música xuega un papel importante; artistes como [[The Wallflowers]], [[John Mayer]], [[Method Man]], y [[Akon]] (con [[Obie Trice]]) apaecieron en pantalla nos episodios "The Accused is Entitled", "Built To Kill, Parte 1", y "Poppin 'Tags", respectivamente. The Wallflowers "Everybody out of the Water "puede atopase nel [[Discu compactu|CD]] cola [[banda sonora]] de ''CSI''. [[Mogwai]] oise de cutiu n'escenes qu'amuesen les pruebes forenses en cursu (vease "estilu", más arriba) como tamién [[Radiohead]] y [[Cocteau Twins]], pero otros artistes emprestaron la so música a ''CSI'' como l'arcu d'una hestoria polo xeneral, como [[Rammstein]] y l'hestoria de Lady Heather. [[Sigur Rós]] puede escuchase tocando de fondu na Temporada 2, nel episodiu "Slaves of Les Vegues", [[The Turtles]] en "Grave Danger", [[Marilyn Manson]] en "Suckers" y [[Queen]] en "A Coup of Grace". La banda de [[rock industrial]] [[Nine Inch Nails]] tamién se destacaron en múltiples ocasiones mientres los trés series. Na temporada 9, nel episodiu "For Warrick", los hermanos Martin "Stoopit" escuchar nel club cuando Grissom afaya'l cuerpu de Warrick.
