Burn Gorman
Burn Hugh Winchester Gorman[2] (1 de setiembre de 1974, Hollywood), ye un actor y músicu británicu, conocíu polos sos papeles de Owen Harper en Torchwood, William Guppy en Bleak House y Stryver en The Dark Knight Rises, según polos sos apareciones en Coronation Street, Johnny English Reborn y la película de 2012 Red Lights.

Primeros años editar
Gorman nació en Hollywood, California. El so padre yera profesor de llingüística en Westwood, California. Los sos padres yeren del Reinu Xuníu.[3] Tien trés hermanes mayores. A los siete años camudar a Londres.
Carrera editar
Gorman estudió na Manchester Metropolitan School of Theatre. Apaeció nos dos primeres temporaes de la serie ganadora del BAFTA Torchwood como Owen Harper. Otros papeles en televisión inclúin Sext, the City and Me, Funland, Bonekickers y otros proyeutos pa la BBC.
Gorman apaeció na adautación de BBC One ganadora d'un BAFTA y un Emmy de Bleak House, de Charles Dickens, como William Guppy, y tamién apaeció nel thriller políticu nomáu al BAFTA Low Winter Sun el mesmu añu. Interpretó al guionista Ray Galdon nel teleteatro nomáu al BAFTA The Curse of Steptoe.
Otros trabayos en televisión inclúin Funland, A Good Thief, Dalziel and Pascoe, Casualty, Merseybeat y The Inspector Lynley Mysteries. Apaeció como convidáu en EastEnders en 2007, y protagonizó na adautación de la ITV de Cumes Burios d'Emily Brontë, nel papel de Hindley Earnshaw. En 2011 protagonizó la segunda adautación de The Runaway de Martina Cole.
Nel cine trabayó en Love is Not Enough, Layer Cake, Colour Me Kubrick, The Best Man, Penelope, Claus, The Oxford Murders y Cemetery Junction.
Nel teatru londinense trabayó en Ladybird, Flush, Oliver, The Green Man y Gong Donkeys. D'esta postrera, Michael Billington de The Guardian escribió "Burn Gorman prueba que ye unu de los meyores actores nuevos de Gran Bretaña".[4]
Gorman tamién trabayó cola aclamada actriz y direutora Kathryn Hunter, Marcello Magni de Complicite, Mike Hodges, la direutora artística de NT d'Escocia Vicky Featherstone, Mark Ravenhill, Frantic Assembly, y cola English National Opera. Participó en llectures, talleres ya iniciatives de desenvolvimientu col National Theatre Studio, el Young Vic, el Royal Court Theatre, la Oxford Stage Company, Paines Plough y el teatru del Soho.[5] Fora de Londres, Gorman trabayó cola Playhouse de Nottingham, el Theatre Royal de Plymouth y el Royal Exchange de Mánchester.
Ente avientu de 2008 y ochobre de 2009, interpretó a Bill Sikes nel revival del musical Oliver!. Foi nomáu a meyor actor de repartu de musical nos Whatsonstage Theatre Awards 2010 por esti papel.[6]
Como músicu, Gorman tocó en clubes y escenarios per tol mundu, actuando xunto a Neneh Cherry, Rodney P y Groove Armada ente otros, y trabayó en videos y visuales con the Streets. Tamién compitió contra'l Beatboxer de Yorkshire Desebel, y foi coronáu campeón de beatbox humanu de BBC 1Xtra.
Gorman interpretó'l so primer papel protagonista cinematográficu na película de 2011 Up There, estrenada nel International Filmfestival Mannheim-Heidelberg. Allan Hunter de Screen Daily describiólu como que "trai ecos de Buster Keaton como'l murniu Martin".[7]
