Década de 1990 editar
La carrera como actriz de West empezó en 1991 cuando interpretó un pequeñu papel na serie de televisión True Confections, un drama de 1950 alrodiu de una muyer con una toma de conciencia per delantre del so tiempu. Nun foi hasta dos años dempués de que West siguió al so debú na pantalla con un papel menor na serie The Secret of Lake Success. West apaeció en tres películes consecutives: la primera como Susie en Puppet Master 4 (1993), depués con un papel menor como Miss Alemaña na película d'aición Non Contest (1994) y nel mesmu añu, retomando'l so papel de Susie en Puppet Master 5: The Final Chapter (1994). Los últimos meses de 1994 y la mayor parte de 1995 viose volver a West a la televisión con apaiciones en Madonna: Innocence Lost (1994) protagonizando a Kelsey Lee, Catwalk (1994) protagonizando a Wendy y el papel de Mariel Hemingway en Love and Betrayal: The Mia Farrow Story (1995).
Década de 2000 editar
La so meyora nel cine producióse cuando protagonizó a la esposa de Val Kilmer, Liz, nel thriller de D.J. Caruso, The Salton Sea nel 2002. Tres l'ésitu moderáu de The Salton Sea West foi espuesta a un mercáu más ampliu. Esti papel ayudóla a consiguir el papel de Robin en The First $20 Million Is Always the Hardest, que foi bien criticada y considerada una gran decepción a pesar d'un repartu d'estrelles, incluyendo Rosario Dawson, Adam Garcia, según un guión escritu por Jon Favreau.
El so siguiente papel foi como Laura Chandler na miniserie nomada al Emmy Mister Sterling (2003). Dende 2003-2004 interpretó a la Dra. Jennifer Devlin (novia de John Clark protagonizáu por Mark-Paul Gosselaar) nun papel recurrente en NYPD Blue. Ella interpretó a la esposa de Michael Keaton nel 2005 na película de terror White Noise. Ella tamién interpretó a l'axente novata Holly Gribbs nel episodiu piloto de CSI nel 2000. En 2006, West interpretó'l papel principal personaxe de Tracy na película The Last Trimester. En 2007 interpretó a la Dra. Honey na película I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry.

West llogró un papel principal na nueva serie del xéneru sobrenatural y dramático drama The Gates de l'ABC, que s'estrenó en xunu de 2010.[2]
