DescripciónErnie Kovacs 1961.JPG
Photo of Ernie Kovacs circa 1961.
Data
1961. Kovacs was sponsored by Dutch Masters Cigars for his series of monthly specials on ABC-TV from 1961 until his death in January 1962; the last special was aired shortly after his fatal accident. May 18 fell on a Thursday in 1961, which is the day and date mentioned in the press release. The photo was used by the news organization in 1981, and was stamped as such, but actually dates back to 20 years prior. The May date stamp that's faint in spots appears to be a 1961 stamp.
This photo was produced prior to 1978 and has no copyright markings.
