The Greco-Roman Museum houses many collections of rare Greek and Roman relics and coins – about 40,000 pieces, from the 3rd century BC to the 7th century AD. The most important being the “Tanafra” statues. There is also a magnificent black granite sculpture of Apis, the sacred bull worshipped by Egyptians. There is also an assortment of mummies, sarcophagi, pottery, jewellery and ancient tapestries. Alexandria, Egypt
