Semblanza editar

Allen educar hasta 1902 na pequeña escuela de Hope Street na llocalidá de Woonsocket (Rhode Island). Ente 1904 y 1906 realizó un trabayu especial na Universidá de Brown sobre atronomía baxu tutelar del profesor Winslow Upton,[3] y en 1908 xunir al Observatoriu Lick como asistente del programa d'observaciones patrocináu pol Institutu Carnegie.[3] Llogró una maestría nel Wellesley College de Boston en 1912.[4]

En 1928[5] empecipió'l so llabor como docente del Hood College de Frederick (Maryland), onde desenvolvería'l restu de la so carrera como profesora d'astronomía.[6]
