Entamos y Carrera
editarJones nació en Decatur (Alabama), nos sos entamos foi un trabayador de la construcción.[5] Dempués estudió en Riverside High School de Decatur Jones que tuvo'l so propiu programa de radio local. Jones sirvió na Marina de los Estaos Xuníos mientres la guerra de Corea.
Jones asistió a la Universidá d'Asbury en Wilmore (Kentucky). Miembru de la promoción de 1953, nun se graduó, pero la universidá en 2003 dio-y un títulu honoríficu. El 4 de marzu de 2011, dirixióse a la comunidá mientres la ceremonia de dedicación del Andrew S. Miller Center for Communications Arts d'Asbury.[6]
Fallecimiento
editarJones finó'l 1 de setiembre de 2015, a los 84 años depués de sufrir de la enfermedá de Parkinson.[7]
