Foi conocíu por representar con frecuencia a xueces. Na comedia What a Country! (¡Qué país!, 1986-1987) representó a Laszlo Gabo. En El gatu nel teyáu de cinc caliente representó'l papel de «Big Daddy» cola Compañía de Teatru d'Arizona mientres la temporada de 1988.
Ente los sos personaxes más famosos nel cine y la televisión atopen el teniente Scanlon (l'aceitosu oficial d'Asuntos Internos en Barney Miller), el Dr. Salik (na serie de televisión Battlestar Galactica) y la so apaición en Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, dirixida por William Shatner, que lo mentó como «un actor maraviyosu».
