DD Lacertae (DD Lac / 12 Lacertae / HD 214993 / HR 8640) ye una estrella na constelación de Lacerta, el llagartu. Pertenez a l'Asociación estelar Lac OB1, que la so distancia respectu al Sistema Solar envalórase en 1700 años lluz.[8]

Catalogada como xigante azul de tipu espectral B2III,[9] DD Lacertae ye una estrella caliente que la so temperatura efectivo ye de 24.000 K. Tien una lluminosidá equivalente a 22.000 soles y un tamañu 8,5 vegaes mayor que'l del Sol. La so metalicidá ye asemeyáu a la del Sol y tien una masa de 12,5 mases solares. Como correspuende a una estrella de les sos carauterístiques, ye muncho más nueva que'l Sol, con una edá entendida ente 11 y 23 millones d'años.[10]

DD Lacertae ye una variable Beta Cephei; nestes variables les fluctuaciones de rellumu producir por pulsaciones na superficie estelar. Asina, la so magnitú aparente bazcuya ente +5,16 y +5,28, siendo'l so periodu principal de 2,917 díes. Identificáronse otros cuatro maneres adicionales, con periodos de 4,63, 4,50, 4,74 y 4,37 hores. Anque la midida de la so velocidá de rotación proyeutada ye de 49 km/s, l'interior de la estrella rota a una velocidá de siquier 100 km/s.[10]
