Primeros añu

John Boyega nació en Peckham, Londres,[5] de padres nixerianos.[6] Tuvo enclín pol teatru dende curtia edá, el so primer papel foi'l d'un lleopardu nuna obra na so escuela primaria.[7] Boyega diba a la ilesia col so familia tolos díes. Boyega empezó a crear una identidá propia al actuar en Hackney,[10] y apaeció na obra de teatru Six Parties nel Teatru Nacional inglés. Tamién actuó en Category B nel Tricycle Theatre xustamente primero que buscara un papel na película de 2011 Attack the Block.[11][12] En setiembre de 2011, HBO anunció que Boyega fuera escoyíu pa ser parte d'un drama sobre boxéu Da Brick, un proyeutu basáu na vida de Mike Tyson. Boyega esperaba realizar el papel de Donnie, un boxeador que representaba a la vida de Tyson. El filme foi escritu por John Ridley,[13] pero nun enllenó les mires y nun foi producíu.[14] En 2011, actuó na película Junkhearts na qu'interpretó a un traficante de drogues qu'intentaba vender delles armes de fueu.[15]

En marzu de 2012, Boyega foi parte de l'adaptación cinematográfica de la novela de Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie Half of a Yellow Sun.[16]

El 29 d'abril de 2014 confirmóse que fuera escoyíu como unu de los personaxes de Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens.[17] La película convertir nuna de les más taquilleres de la historia del cine.

Boyega declaró nuna entrevista que ye fan de Marvel Comics y que tenía la esperanza d'interpretar al personaxe de Pantera Negra.[18]
