Margaret Alington
Margaret Hilda Alington (nacida Broadhead; 30 de setiembre de 1920, Christchurch – 15 d'ochobre de 2012, Wellington) foi una bibliotecaria, historiadora, naturalista, y autora neozelandesa.

Vida y carrera
editarNació y educóse en Christchurch, Nueva Zelanda. Graduar pola Universidá de Canterbury con un Bachelor d'Artes en 1943.[2] Trabayó como bibliotecaria nes Biblioteques de Canterbury y d'Auckland, Biblioteca Universitaria de Leeds, Biblioteca Universidá de Illinois (Urbana, EE.XX.) y na Biblioteca Nacional de Nueva Zelanda Alexander Turnbull (parte de la Biblioteca Nacional de Nueva Zelanda).
Munches de les sos investigaciones centrar na vida y obra del Rev. Frederick Thatcher, arquiteutu d'edificios de Nueva Zelanda qu'inclúin la ilesia de St. Mary (Nuevu Plymouth), y la Old St Paul (Wellington). La culminación d'eses investigaciones fueron el so llibru, An Excellent recruit: Frederick Thatcher, architect, priest and private secretary in early New Zealand, publicáu en 2007. Foi profesora conferenciante sobre historia de Old St Paul na Escuela d'Arquiteutura en Victoria University de Wellington de 1978 a 2005.[3]
En 1977, Alington foi en gran parte responsable de la formación de "Los Amigos del Campusantu Bolton", güei "Bolton Street Memorial Park", que restauraron tierres, edificios y tumbes de personaxes históricos. Tamién escribió una hestoria detallada del campusantu Unquiet Earth.[4] Amás Alington realizaba visites empuestes, alredor del campusantu mientres munchos años.[5] Tamién escribió una historia de la ilesia (St Mary's Church), llamáu Goodly Stones & Timbers, en 1988.
Nel Añu Nuevu d'Honores a la Reina de 1999, foi fecha Oficial de la Orde del Méritu de Nueva Zelanda, por servicios a la hestoria local.[6][7] Alington foi una collaboradora al Diccionariu de Biografía de Nueva Zelanda.
Casóse col arquiteutu neozelandés Bill Alington. La so casa anterior, güei llamada "Alington House", foi clasificada en Categoría I pol Heritage New Zealand.[8][9] Ye un exemplu importante "d'arquiteutura del Movimientu Modernu."
Finó na so casa de Wellington, Nueva Zelanda el 15 d'ochobre de 2012.[10]
