Theodora Lisle Prankerd (21 de xunu de 1878, Hackney (es)

Biografía editar
Theodora nació en Hackney, Londres, fía del prauticante xeneral Orlando Reeves Prankerd y la so segunda muyer, Clementina Soares. Asistió al Institutu de Brighton y estudió botánica nel Royal Holloway, Universidá de Londres, graduándose con Honores de 2ª Clase en 1899.[1]
En 1912 foi profesora de botánica, de tiempu parcial, en Birkbeck College, Londres, y en 1917, nomada Llectora en Botánica na Universidá de Reading, onde foi profesora hasta'l so decesu. En 1929, llogró'l so doctoráu de ciencies pola Universidá de Londres. Ente 1922 y 1936, publicó una serie d'estudios pioneros na crecedera de felechos en respuesta a la gravedá (geotropismo). Anque se-y acreditó tola investigación y autoría de los artículos publicaos, enxamás los presentó ella, sinón nes xuntes científiques por colegues masculinos.
Prankerd finó en Reading en 1939.[2]
